The SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition featured engineering teams from around the world attempting to design and build a pod based on Elon Musk’s vision for the future of transportation.

I was the design and media lead for team NYU, (later transitioned to global project manager role) which was accepted into the final round and traveled to SpaceX headquarters in Hawthorne, California to race against other leading teams from around the world. 

Out of thousands of entrants, our pod was one of 15 chosen to present to Elon Musk and SpaceX engineers at SpaceX headquarters in Hawthorne, California

Responsibilities included: early design and prototyping, additive manufacturing, wind tunnel testing, CFD simulation, and international communication.

Teach-U: VR enables anyone to learn or practice music, even if they don’t have access to instruments, by allowing users to play virtual instruments with their hands in a peaceful virtual reality environment.

I was the technical lead and designer on the project. This included managing the Unity development environment, writing C# and networking code, incorporating prototype hand trackers courtesy of PMD technologies, and designing the experience and environment.

Project Neuron was an interactive live digital performance created in partnership with the Shanghai Conservatory of Music (上海音乐学院), The Shanghai Symphony Hall (上海交响乐团音乐厅), and the International Computer Music Conference.

I was the Mixed Reality Project Manager for the piece, which involved designing, fabricating, and operating four OptiTrack connected dancers sending data into Unreal Engine for an immersive, reactive, visual experience.

This series of ink paintings reflect a contemporary twist on traditional Chinese art methods.

After traditional instruction in ancient Chinese art styles such as gong bi, da zhuan, and shui mo, these pieces use those same techniques with contemporary compositions. All pieces are made with traditional Chinese ink on rice paper.

DIY-Duinos are Arduino Uno clones built from “scratch” with separate ATMEGA USB interface chip. All “DIY-duinos” were later given to students in Shanghai.

Final project for “Rapid Prototyping” class.

Using MediVis technology, "The Human" was an exploration in processing real patients CT and MRI scans into something that was both aesthetically beautiful and entirely medically accurate.
